About Little Adam’s Peak

The Little Adam’s Peak (also known as Mini Adam’s Peak) is one of Ella’s most accessible and rewarding hikes. Standing at 1,141 meters above sea level, it offers breathtaking views of the Ella Gap, lush tea plantations, and the majestic mountain ranges of Sri Lanka’s hill country.

Named after the sacred Adam’s Peak (Sri Pada) due to its similar shape, this smaller version provides the same sense of accomplishment with far less effort. The trail is easy and suitable for families, couples, and travelers of all ages.

Hiking Route & Experience

The best time to hike Little Adam’s Peak is early morning or late afternoon. Sunrise (around 6:00 AM) offers a golden glow over the valley and fewer crowds. Sunset is equally magical, with a soft orange hue blanketing the mountains.

The hike is open year-round, but the clearest skies are between January and April.
